Here is a financial web site that has a great section on housing trends, charts, and opinion: http://seekingalpha.com/tag/housing

There are some great posts to read here and I have comment 51. Cannot cut and paste here due to unstable CORA website but I invite your responses.

I read some articles in the past few days about the duplicitous position banks take on mortgages. On the one hand they are saying you are immoral if you walk away from your upside-down loan and do not follow through on your obligations. On the other hand the same institutions are ditching commercial properties where they find themselves in the same situation. Of course when you or I do it our credit rating is poisoned for years. They probably suffer none at all for the same move.

To me what is immoral is not walking away from an upsidedown loan, but rather being duplicitous about the situation.
